Beacon Ridge Back Nine Sunday Bermuda Greens Open For Play
Dear Beacon Ridge Members and Neighbors,
It is my great pleasure to announce that Superintendent Mike Rose has given the green light to open the back nine for play effective Wednesday, August 14. The Sunday Bermuda has grown in extremely well thanks to the hard work by the maintenance crew and favorable weather conditions. Tree removal has been delayed waiting for our contractor to finish up other projects in Seven Lakes West, but the delay has not had an impact on the growing in of the greens. The sun is still high overhead and will not be a concern until later in fall.
As a reminder, for the back nine greens during these initial few weeks of play, there will be a fair amount of sand and top dressing material on the surface. Also you will see some weeds which we are in the process of spraying out. They will be gone in very short order.
The back nine fairways have also been aerated which will stimulate root growth to improve the fairways. This is something that has not been done in many years. The front nine will be aerated in the near future as maintenance schedules permit.
Over the next few weeks, Mike will also be making additional drainage improvements on the cart path on #2 as well as repairs on the dirt cart paths on #15 and #17.
I want to thank you again for your patience and perseverance as we have executed this extensive refurbishment. With the major work of installing new greens out of the way, we will start working on continuous improvements to the course.
We are also close to making an announcement on the restaurant. Stay tuned for more on this in the coming weeks.
